I should have it completely edited within a week or so, I'll post it here when it's ready and it will be posted elsewhere so if you see the text match up, then you know where you saw it first.

I think I'll say it here to make it clear: you can disagree with anything in politics or any part of a political party's platform but make sure you are mature when evaluating and discussing it. Nothing turns me into the Hulk like when fairly intelligent high powered people start discussing politics and then act like children towards grassroots parties or the lesser known parties. Like in the States during the elections of 2000 and 2004, the Green Party is a serious political party. Nader was a serious candidate. Casting him, or them, off in a childlike swipe of confidence is not the way to handle things any more than is casting ALL Republicans as rich white corporate executives that are war hawks.

Article to be posted soon.

Vacation from hiatus status.

I wrote a long article about my experience with the Israeli consulate, it is being edited and common sense-d because if it gets out in the general public it might cause a problem. This is just an overview for idiots like illt3ck who can't understand something simple.

One is the ethics route, which does make a fair bit of sense even though the whole movement was subverted by innocent, well meaning kids who have become the spokesmen in the minds of people who are easy to confuse. This covers the ethical treatment of the animals, which is something important to take into consideration since even indigenous people realize the worth of animal life and well being; this also covers the ethical dilemmas of who earns the money in food production and the rampant corruption and bourgeoisie extortion in all modes of production, but I bet that isn't something highly repeated or touted as a good reason.

Another one is the health reasons, you never know exactly what you are eating because it no longer is a hunting/gathering society and production is out of any culpable hands. It's no longer like it was before Sinclair's The Jungle but it still isn't point A to point B completely clean. You just never know.

Another big one is just simple preference, some people don't want a big dripping steak. You can't argue with that since you can get all the nutrients your body needs in ways other than devouring a steak the size of your head.

What's right for you might not be right for everyone else, it's a thing of tolerance since it doesn't hurt anyone in the room if someone wishes to be a vegetarian. This is not how it works with something like smoking, where it does affect everyone in the room adversely.

Radical Whig Ideology

There really isn't a terrible lot that I can say about the RealID act that hasn't been said already. Like I've said beyond count today, "If you're willing to scale back your liberty for your supposed security, you deserve neither" and that sticks. What's hard to believe is that the act passed with a unanimous vote. As an Independent it is hard to get things done, when you start to see the Democratic party in a positive light at all things like this happen and you aren't quite so sure of yourself any more. There are so many aspects to cover of why this wrong, what could happen, what might happen and everything else. No need for conspiracy theories here so just dash all of those thoughts and think about them later if you really care. But what is most disappointing is that several key players that I wanted to see make a run for the 2008 presidential election decided to just run with the pack and play ball. Obama could have voted against it and put himself on prime real estate to ride a wave of popularity to 2008. As well spoken as the guy is and as much attention as he can find, from my vantage point it seems very obvious what he should have done. I can only wonder what really happened to make it not seem so obvious to him.

The rest of the Democrats who had misgiving about the bill earlier were hesitant, rightfully so, yet not a single dissenting vote. Unanimous. The bill was pushed through at an alarming rate. The Department of Homeland Security is now all but above the law in what they can do. Bush can strike up another win in his column though, that's all he really cares about and in typical Bush fashion, he fails to recognize what this is going to mean down the road.

Affairs are in a pretty sad state right now, the media has quite a large part to do with this. It's commonly said that the media is liberal yet I ask you this - how many times was the RealID act brought up on the news in the past day? This is a liberal issue if you want to get right down to it and for this very reason - this is tacking on a bigger federal government without reimbursing the states. Conservatives/Republicans and whatever else want to reduce the government, so they just shot themselves in the foot by adding on to the national government and taking away power from the state governments. Something they claim the whiny liberals would want to do. But at heart this is a Republican machination, they will "TERRORISM" and push through whatever they want to give themselves and their progeny more power in the years to come - even when there aren't these legitimate threats. What do they really think the IDs will do in the future for the common person? NOTHING. And I posture that they already know this, this is just a flagrant show of their power but in reality it shows to the people how they have become drunk with power and are just abusing their power now. They are like the drunk husband who comes home and plays mind games with the sweet little wife, then finally hits her since he can't do anything else.

And not many people know about all of this, sure a lot of the /.ers do and other rabid online people do but the average people don't. How long is this going to take to sink in? I wonder how much news coverage this will get...but oh wait, the media has more to gain by letting Americans think that terrorism is the hot button issue and we are all always in mortal danger. Completely pathetic how Americans are so easy and willing to be duped. Start to question things, if nothing else stop watching Fox News and find a new source of information.

All of this from a little appropriations bill, what will shortly border on tyranny now in rider form! It is always about smoke and mirrors, but the Democrats failed and I want to know why. It can't be as simple as that they were scared about not being reelected. When colonial legislatures were being dissolved because of patriot sympathies, there were elected only more radically patriotic representatives. We need to start moving left and electing those from further left than ever before. I never fully support a reactionary move, but moving left is always the correct answer whether in peace or in war.

This is a freely open message to the elected Democrats: If you're going to act like a Republican, change your party and quit calling yourself a Democrat. Democrats are there for the people, they want everything open and that is something I want to live with. I give you a challenge to quit acting contrary to your label, if you want to be a Republican then be a Republican. But quit stealing my vote running as a Democrat and then acting like a Republican. If you run Democratic, then act Democratic.

Capers and quips to equality

I read a thread earlier on OT just before I headed out to Fry's and Best Buy in search of the electronic holy grail and it got me thinking - some of the funniest quips are not the most clever but the most accessible. Everyone has a different perception of what it is humorous, like last night I was laughing at the Trump "Dominio's" commercial skit on Saturday Night Live when I feel like not everyone else was laughing at "Jesus Crust" or "Dominico's". But what got me thinking about humor was Eric's thread earlier about his dad. His mother asked him if he wanted cream in his coffee and his dad edged in "...or do you like it strong and black like your men?" with a straight face. Very simple concept, not a huge drain of intellect to understand...even though it is obviously in jest it does reveal a lighter side to the problems we have in these times with being an egalitarian people. We made small strides all along but we still have plenty of work to do.

Slavery was outlawed in parts of American "states" before Washington even took office, nearly eight decades later thousands of white American boys were ready to die for one reason or another but at the end of the chain of reasons was abolitionist sentiment. Then the blacks had full citizenship and had the right to vote, even though things didn't turn out so well the groundwork was laid for better things to come. The constitution is a staging ground, it says a lot but it takes time for everything to work as it should. Then women were given the right to vote and they did tilt the first election they were allowed to vote in. It took time for everything to work out the way it should and it finally did. Apparently the next step in things is allowing the homosexuals into our big family of egalitarian brotherhood, which I fully support. I honestly couldn't care what people's preferences are as long as they follow three conditions: (1) full consent of all active parties (2) adults (3) in the privacy of their own home. If all conditions are fulfilled then I couldn't care less if your preference is skinny redheads, plump blondes or guys. Yet the notorious conservative states want to single the homosexuals out and turn them into monsters that they aren't. They're people like you and me, whether you like that or not, and there is no reason to discriminate against anyone for anything, but because of their sexual preference is pretty lame as all things go. If you like girls as thin as a rail should I have a problem with you? No. None of my business, knock yourself out with whatever you like.

Progress is slow, it takes time because it is worthy. It gives people time to adjust. But the dumbest thing that could ever happen is to formally write in any national document that marriage is between a man and a woman. Regardless of whatever religion you chose to follow today or tomorrow, that is what you take in church/synagogue/temple/whatever and you take it home for safekeeping when you aren't at services. It has nothing to do with the privacy outside of your home, so leave it all at home. It has nothing to do with employment or the right to distinguish yourself differently when filing taxes. Marriage is the state's deal, it's between two consenting, sentient human parties and we can leave it that. This country is taking the whole sex thing a bit too far - France had her insults when the Clinton scandal was going down but we don't need to take it overboard and become the coquettish nation. Let's stick to murder mysteries and science fiction instead of made for TV movies dealing with homosexuals trying to adopt a kid. Progress comes slow but it builds relentlessly and soon enough everything will be as it should be. Or we could continue to :gfight: about things that don't matter. Your choice.

examinatiOWNED

I'm done with f1nals. I'm still waiting for the AP US History kids to report in on how things went, I think I managed to help a fair deal with the boring parts of Reconstruction. I also finished the book I started reading this morning when I got back from my final, it was quite a bit different than I had originally expected. The Cement Garden by Ian McEwan. Interesting to say the least.

So what is going on in the world? Starbucks is the object of my ire for their overzealous censorship and prissy little values concerns about Springsteen's newest record. Incredibly lame of you Starbucks. The majority of the people sipping on your overpriced, trendy concoctions are talking about the very same thing that you have such a problem with on the song Reno - that's right, people are talking about S E X. What are you going to do about it? Start shoving people out of your trendy confined hipster stores? Starbucks is rapidly becoming the next Walmart, so I wholeheartedly endorse any and all reading this to flock to local coffeeshops instead of the behemoth that threatens to impose it's ridiculous value standards on it's trendy fanbase. How do you like that coffee boys, I'll take my Doc Martens and iPod elsewhere to get my coffee....well, I don't have Doc Martens or an overpriced iPod but the rest of that statement stands.

Trump called the architect of the Freedom Tower an "egghead". Very good Trump, you managed to turn another one of your P U B L I C I T Y S T U N T S into something that people actually care about. Very well done. The Freedom Tower is almost entirely lame, it is all show and no go. Instead of office space we'll have a cool little USELESS spire to poke the sky and warn all terrorists that our freedom allowed us such a useless waste of money and space. If that isn't freedom and if that won't make terrorists cry 'woe' then I just don't know what will. I agree with Trump and I have from the very beginning before I knew his point - build the towers again, bigger and stronger. How about that for freedom, something utilitarian and the skyline looking complete again? Oh but that would make sense, we need something that fits the era of Bush and we'll get it in the form of the Freedom Tower. All hail to the chief.

I think that is all, take the Starbucks bit to heart even if you didn't laugh, giggle or mamoru at how I chose to write about it. You don't mess with the Boss. Thus spake calumny.

Indefatigable

After putting it off and putting it off I finally buckled down and studied for my last final, which is in a few hours and I'm not even tired enough to think about sleeping. I think I'm going to clean my room since it's an 1nsane mess with books, spirals and comic books askew. One of my posters fell down too, I should probably tak3 care of that too. I need to leave in a few hours so I think there really isn't a point to sleeping tonight....after I finish cleaning up I think I might be able to re-read some Jaspers I marked a few weeks ago that I haven't had time to re-read since then.

I also found the perfect internship for what I'm looking to do, but because of my paying job this summer I won't be able to do it...and I would have run into certain "out of district" conflicts of interest since this internship I had wanted so was in my old state. Oh well. At least I have an awesome job this summer that is going to pay me for being outside.

That's all for now, I better get my comic books off of the floor before they inevitably get stepped on.

Humble beginnings

This first post is just to christen the ship and make sure the formatting is 1337. Since everything looks in order I can excogitate how to center this, what to write, and how to do as such. I'm sure the answer won't come as I'm typing this w-o-r-d and sure enough it didn't so no matter how long I decide to make this sentence I still won't resolve the existential crisis this "blog" is suffering through. At any rate I do think I need to cut down part of my wordy description subordinate to my 1337 "blog" title, it seems a bit long and doesn't really say anything cogently that I had wanted to get across in a number of words.

The better "blogs" I've read all seem to have a few things in common. Where appropriate, and not to a ridiculous extent, numbers are inserted for letters so as to make the CS fans not too edgy about reading word after word in normal English. So I w1ll a77emp7 to not do th1s too much, because 1t really mu5t get annoying seeing nothing but 1337speak. Another thing that makes certain "blogs" great is never giving away too much information in one post. That makes the r3ader have to com3 back time after time to get the full picture. So I guess this is where I will start wrapping up the very first entry trying to resolv3 exactly what I want to do with this and how it shall be done.

I leave you with this: Semper Progrediamur. It means "let us always move forward". And move forward we shall.
